Be the Church!
"Do you not know that the Lord God dwells in you?" - Acts 3: 21
**Repentance means changing the way you see things!
6 Points in becoming the Church:
1. CALL
~ Understand your significance in life!
"I, the LORD, have called you in righteousness;
I will take hold of your hand.
I will keep you and will make you
to be a covenant for the people
and a light for the Gentiles,
to open eyes that are blind,
to free captives from prison
and to release from the dungeon those who sit in darkness." - Isaiah 42:6-7
2.) COST
Trust in the LORD with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make your paths straight. - Proverbs 3: 5-6
3.) COMMUNICATION
May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
be pleasing in your sight,
O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer. - PSALM 19:14
4.) CONNECTION
Though one may be overpowered,
two can defend themselves.
A cord of three strands is not quickly broken. - ECCLESIASTES 4:12
5.) COURAGE
The wicked man flees though no one pursues,
but the righteous are as bold as a lion. - PROVERBS 28:1
6.) CHARACTER
**Be a reflection of Jesus!
Who is this that appears like the dawn,
fair as the moon, bright as the sun,
majestic as the stars in procession? - SONG OF SOLOMON 6:10
GOD WANTS YOU TO BE THE CHURCH!

Sanctification: First Night

"Deny yourself, Take up your cross and Follow me!"
With Fasting and Abstinence, along comes these realizations:
~One will be able to "share" the sentiments of those people who cannot afford to feed themselves one square meal a day;
~Prayer is so frequent and is like breathing in air. That even a simple, "Lord, sustain me today", is in itself a sigh of prayer.
~Food after the fasting hour is over is so palatable! It seems like a simple burger is the most delicious thing you have ever tasted in your entire life!
~Grace before and after meal is meaningfully said.
~Soaking in prayer after one has abstained is the best!
Lesson for tonight:
Do not ever think that glorifying the Lord, may it be in the form of fasting or serving in one's church or helping His people in any way, is a SACRIFICE..Because nothing can ever compare to His Sacrifice of dying on the cross for our sins.
Instead, think of it as a PRIVELEGE...A privelege to serve the Lord of all Lords and the King of all kings.
Change because you are Commanded and Chosen!

There is a need for us to change because:
1.) We are Commanded
God blessed them and said to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground." - Genesis 1: 28
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in[a] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." - Matthew 28: 19-20
2.) We are Chosen
You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit—fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. - John 15:16
strengthening the disciples and encouraging them to remain true to the faith. "We must go through many hardships to enter the kingdom of God," they said. - Acts 14:22
Being chosen and at the same time commanded is not an easy task, that is why the Lord reminded us in Romans 5:3...
Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.
All the more, He promised in Romans 8:18...
I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.
A hope that is seen, is not Hope at all...
